12 snake bite cases reported locally

Written By: Artex, , Uncategorized

It’s that time of the year again.  We’re all out in our yards, busy with yard work and let’s face it we’re not paying attention. This can be unfortunate if a snake is lurking close by.  Snakebite season starts in late spring and tapers off in early fall. Doctor’s urge those who are bitten by a snake not to bring the snake to the emergency room because that will lead to another snakebite.

A few tips to help stave off these unwanted guests… Keep tall bush areas cut down or at least wear heavy boots when working in areas of overgrown bush.  Snakes also love hiding under logs and rocks so be cautious when picking up things around the yard.  Stay safe in the Tri-County area!
